Sustainable Development
Sustainable development means meeting the needs of today (food, shelter, employment, etc.) without compromising the ability of future generations to also meeting those same needs. In a world where resources are running low, attention sustainable development must be incorporated into all aspects of our lives.
For example, the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014) aims to integrate the principles, values and practices that can fulfil the world’s present needs without compromising the future of humankind, into all aspects of education and learning.
